What does Erotic Dance mean to you?

To me, it means performance art that is of a sexual nature (or includes nudity), or contains sexual themes. It may or may not intend to arouse the audience.

What are the differences between Exotica, Burlesque and Striptease?

Burlesque is about tease & sensuality. Nudity is not necessarily a part of burlesque. Striptease involves the removal of some or all clothing and Exotica involves the imitation of sexual acts, with the intention to arouse.

Why is there a public misconception on erotic dancing?

I think with the current rise of raunch culture (proliferation of playboy merchandise, pole dancing lessors for the masses etc) the misconceptions are slowly being readdressed. However, women have always and will always be looked at as sexual objects (whether they acquiesce or not)… Erotic dancers are taking control of the way they are “objectified”… and giving permission. Women and men see this as threatening… and tend to classify Erotic performers as “whores” or “sluts”… I think I need to write an essay 

When does erotic dancing go too far?

For me, when audience members are invited to have contact with the performer in a sexual way.

What attracts you to this competition?

The fact that it appears to be less about stripping and more about performance art (whish is sorely lacking in the sex industry today)…. More about entertainment.

Are you a newcomer, occasional dabbler, or regular participant in erotic dancing of any kind? If yes – what style and how often do you perform it?

I’m a lifer  …I do table dancing, pub shows, pole shows, strippergrams, corporate events, pole dancing and double shows.

Are you ever too old to perform erotic dance?

Yes and no. I think it is to do with your intended audience and the intention of your performance (intention to arouse vs intention to entertain).

What famous erotic dancers and burlesque performers do you admire?

Gayna Galaxy, Elizabeth Burton, Sex Intents and Glita Supanova, Christa Hughes
